Why Can't I Be Yo', Fo'. Sunday, October 29, 2006.
Greg Haymes says: "And finally, it's not a tribute band, but the annual "Why Can't I Be You?" bash finds a big bunch of local musicians paying tribute to the songs of other Capital Region musicians. Hosts for the fourth annual bash at Tess' Lark Tavern in Albany on Sunday are MotherJudge and John Brodeur, and among the many area musicians slated to perform are Laura Boggs, the Decadent Royals, Steve Candlen, Bryan Thomas, Charmboy, the Black Fuel and Matt Durfee. In fact, my band Ramblin Jug Stompers are on the roster as well, and -- who knows? -- we just might end up playing Nick Brignola's "Flight of the Eagle" on kazoos. The bash will also feature video contributions from former local musicians including Tom Burre and Amy Abdou. Admission is free."
